Your Friendly Southampton Dentist
Welcome to Veriam Dental Surgery
I qualified from Manchester University in 1981 and have worked in General Dental Practice since that time, being in the Maybush area since 1990. I am very fortunate to have wonderful help from several part-time staff who have remained with me for several years. We appreciate that you may be apprehensive about a dental visit.
At Veriam we try to ensure a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but please tell us if you are particularly anxious about anything and we will try to allay your fears. If you need treatment and a local anaesthetic is required, an anaesthetic gel can be applied to the gum first to minimise any discomfort.
Dentistry has made great progress in techniques and filling materials in recent years and with increased awareness of the causes and prevention of tooth decay and gum disease many people now keep their teeth for life.
Regular check-ups ensure any dental problem or oral condition is picked up at an early stage. Children are also checked for tooth alignment and can be referred to a specialist orthodontist if tooth straightening is required.
At your check up, we will carry out a thorough examination of your teeth & gums with x-rays if required. You will have the opportunity to discuss any treatment options there may be, and receive an itemised written estimate of the treatment costs. We offer treatment on a ‘pay as you go’ basis or on our dental plan which spreads the cost of routine treatment, starting from as little as £5.10 per month. Both adults and children are treated on a private basis, with reduced costs for children (check-ups for under 5's free).
The practice staff undergo regular training for professional development and adhere to the General Dental Council rules governing the profession. The GDC can be contacted at 37 Wimpole Street, London, W1G 8DQ. www.gdc-uk.org
